Cinderella’s Slipper

This right here is my dream fairy tale
With a handsome prince who does what he says
Looks directly to my eyes
And doesn’t tell me any lies

He picks me up and walks me home at night
Cheers me up when I don’t feel right
Never fails to show me that he cares
Oblivious to how I’m melting from his stares

He caught my hand when I almost fell
Got me thinking that all is well
If it’s a dream, don’t wake me up
Don’t turn the page, make time stop

I write him poems and stories too
All but my heart, he can see right through
So this right here is our pretty little secret
Don’t tell a soul of what I’ve said.

And while he’s still not with anyone
Is it okay if I pretend his mine,
For a while I’d like to play the princess
And if he asks, I’ll just say yes.
